Reliquary
A body sealed in plastic, marked as hazardous, preserved like a specimen. Something at its core keeps glowing, refusing to go quiet. This is a personal piece built around a single tension: the figure is venerated and contaminated at the same time. Wrapped and contained like a relic, yet flagged with warning tape and biohazard marks like something that should not be touched. I wanted that contradiction to be the whole image, sacred and dangerous in the same breath. The work sits in the dark, atmospheric register I keep returning to. Deep blacks, a single source of colour, and a quiet sense of dread rather than open horror.
